Scientific Career: Curriculum Vitae
The themes and focuses of my research have a Markovian characteristic to it. Nevertheless, my interests reflect a hunt for seemingly simple rules - equations of nature - when repeated either in space or time give rise to magical properties; "Intelligence" to name just one of them.
During my Bachelors in engineering I specialized in Electronics and Communications engineering with emphasis in Signal/Image processing algorithms. As part of the bachelors' project, Shivkumar Jolad and I developed a multi-resolution algorithm to clean Radio Astronomical Images at the Raman Research Institute.
Interests in Radio Astronomy and Space technology took me to Chalmers University in Sweden, where I did my masters on the topic. And for my research project I was at the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research, developing genetic algorithms based extra-solar planet detection.
For PhD I moved to the Kapteyn Astronomical Institute in The Netherlands, where I developed efficient algorithms to solve "Cosmological Radiative Transfer" problems. I developed a full 1-D radiative transfer code called STARDUST, which was then used to produce large-scale reionization simulations using another software I developed called BEARS.
